History of SS Tuff Pipe

In 2016, we observed a troubling trend: conventional carbon steel direct bury systems were failing just six years after installation. The primary causes of these failures were issues with field-welded joint connections and groundwater penetration, which compromised the integrity of the piping by seeping into the outer shell.

In 2016, there were no alternatives for the conventional direct bury systems, so SS Tuff Pipe® was developed to fill this gap. Made from stainless steel with fully welded joints, SS Tuff Pipe® offers significantly greater longevity compared to conventional carbon steel direct bury systems. Since its introduction, SS Tuff Pipe® has been installed in tens of thousands of feet, with zero failures to date.
